Only real issue with the gun, the buttplate was cracked off at the lower screw. Idea was to be able to carry the gun in a more compact case, now I just need to find one!īarrel markings match the rear of the stock. Seems to reason it would be the 4th month of the year, but general consensus is no one is really sure.įorend simply pops off, which allows the barrels to be removed. The "C" indicates it was manufactured in 1951, not sure what the "4" indicates. Receiver is case colored/hardened, while most were simply blued (some were even silver finished). Later models had a selector on the hammer itself. This one also has the full length soldered barrels, and frame mounted firing pin selector. This is an early model, before Savage grooved the.
